Tangipahoa Parish Fair – 985-748-6643

Washington Parish Free Fair
In October, when skies are bluer and the air is crisp with Fall’s first touch, the enthusiastic crowds once again flow through the entrance to enjoy the spectacle of the Washington Parish Free Fair. Since its humble beginning in 1911 in a local livery stable, this county/parish fair has steadily grown bigger and better each year. Today, based upon attendance records, it is believed to be the largest county/parish free fair in the USA. It is the second oldest Parish Fair in Louisiana

MARDI GRAS PARADES

When you ask people what they love about Louisiana’s I-12 Retirement District, you often hear “It’s got all the things I love about New Orleans, only in a small town.” And that’s exactly why the Carnival celebrations on the Northshore are enjoyed by both natives and newbies. You get all the Mardi Gras sights and sounds, the bands, the beads and the revelry without having to worry about big-city hassles like traffic and parking.
