St. Helena Parish
While no interstate highways run through the parish, State Highways 10, 16, 37, 38 and 43 provide access to both Interstate 12 and Interstate 55, which provide access to the north, south, east and west highways connecting the entire United States.

With construction currently underway, the www.ZacharyTaylorParkway.com running east and west through the parish will provide easy access to major metropolitan areas surrounding the community.

The location of the towns in the parish are within one hour to the west to Baton Rouge, less than two hours to the south to New Orleans and less than two hours north to Jackson, Mississippi.

St. Tammany Parish
St. Tammany Parish is one of only three locations in the United States with three interstate highways coming together – I-10, I-12 and I-59. I-55 is approximately 40 miles to the west. I-12 runs through St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes.

Amtrak has rail service from New Orleans to New York with a stop in Slidell.

Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans is within 45 minutes of St. Tammany Parish and the Gulfport International Airport in Mississippi is within a one hour drive. There are regional airports in Abita Springs and Slidell that can accommodate small jets. Transportation for seniors is provided by the Council on Aging.

Tangipahoa Parish
Tangipahoa Parish is centrally located in the Louisiana Northshore, one of the fastest growing areas of the country. Interstates 12 and 55 intersect in this community. They are located within one hours drive to the south to the business and cultural center of the Deep South, New Orleans, and within one hour drive to the west to the State’s Capitol, Baton Rouge.

The Canadian National Railroad dissects Tangipahoa Parish and offers Amtrak service from the parish south to New Orleans or north to Chicago and points beyond. The Hammond Northshore Regional Airport is located in this parish. This is the largest regional airport in the I-12 Retirement District with 5000 feet and 6,500 feet runways offering convenient private and business air travel service.

Washington Parish
Hwy 3241 will provide a four-lane link to Interstate 12. The Zachary Taylor Parkway project extends from I-49 in Alexandria to I-59 in Poplarville, MS, encompassing Highway 10, the west artery through Washington Parish, Tangipahoa and St. Helena. Most of the highway project is also a designated state scenic byway, and will become another artery of economic development.

Airports:
Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans is within an hour to an hour half of all I-12 Retirement Parishes. The Gulfport International Airport in Mississippi is within one hour’s drive of St. Tammany Parish. The Baton Rouge Airport is within an hour’s drive of St. Helena, Tangipahoa and Washington Parish.
